Join us and Dr. Stephen Caplan for an interactive workshop for all woodwind players on Thursday, October 5th! This workshop explores new research on healthy practice techniques that help musicians overcome and avoid repetitive stress injuries while also improving performance.

If you have experienced pain or injury from your music making and are interested in finding a more effortless way to play music, Dr. Caplan is available for half-hour private consultations at a discounted rate of $40.00. About Stephen Caplan
Dr. Stephen Caplan is an award-winning oboist and Professor of Music at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Principal oboist with the Las Vegas Philharmonic, Dr. Caplan also plays in orchestras accompanying popular superstars on the Las Vegas Strip. He is internationally recognized for his teaching which promotes improved body awareness for musicians in order to achieve higher artistic standards and to avoid the repetitive stress injuries that currently plague the music world. Caplan is author of two books--Oboemotions: What Every Oboe Player Needs to Know about the Body, and The Breathing Book. He also writes the “Health Matters” column for the journal of the International Double Reed Society. Dr. Caplan is a leading teacher of Body Mapping, responsible for training and licensing musicians interested in becoming Body Mapping Educators. Dr. Caplan is a Buffet Group USA Performing Artist and also serves as Director of the College of Fine Arts Clinic for Health and Injury Prevention at UNLV. More information can be found at:
